Philippians 4:7 - Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can
understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (NLT)
In this post-accident period of my life, I am far more nervous than I used to be. When I see a truck passing by, I cringe, especially when it is black! When I hear a vehicle coming up beside me on the street, I sense it, and there is a horror inside. What should I do? Take counselling? Keep on praying for release?
This is an area in my life that needs much work, so I pray and pray, and try to organize my day so that I am less stressed. Yes, I am an organizing type of person, so my mind works and works on the problem. Is the inner peace described in today's Scripture beyond the capacity of the mind to understand?
Philippians 4:6-7 - Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (NLT)
The "then" word catches my attention. Peace comes after the following is done: don't worry about anything, pray and tell God about everything, and give thanks. It's the last suggestion I have trouble with. How do I thank God for everything He has done when a truck hits me?
Being thankful for a terrible situation or problem is difficult, to say the least, but that is exactly what we must do. Then Christ's awesome peace is ours. A thankful heart opens our minds to the healing of the soul and to the peace of God within. I need to thank the Lord for the accident and the amazing truth that He kept me safe through it. So many people have said to me, "It's a wonder you weren't killed." I must still have something to do for the Lord. Yes, I am thankful, and yes, there is much to do for the Lord. I let go and open up to the Lord's healing, loving Spirit in me. A quiet balm fills my soul.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of Your peace, a peace that goes way beyond what our minds can understand. We thank You today for that which has so troubled us, and we let it go into Your hands, with trust and love. We also thank You for Your presence with us through all the suffering in this earthly life. In addition, Lord, we pray for our friends and family members who are struggling to understand what is happening to them; may they also open to Your peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Bible Quotes In Support of Stewardship (Part 1 of 6)
God Created the Earth and All of Nature in it
Psalms 104:25,30. In wisdom you made them all, the earth is full of yourcreatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number - living things both large and small... When you send your Spirit, they are created and you renew the earth.
John 1:3. Through him all things were made: without him nothing was made that has been made.
Colossians 1:16-17. All things were created by him and for him. He is before all things and in him all things hold together.
God has a Relationship with All of His Creation
Psalm 96:10-13. The Lord reigns... Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad, let the seas resound and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy, they will sing before the Lord for he comes, he comes to judge the earth.
Isaiah 43:20-21. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
Deut. 32:1-2. Listen, Oh heavens, and I will speak, hear, Oh earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.
Job 37:14-18. Listen to this, Job. Stop and consider God's wonders. Do you know how God controls the clouds and makes his lightning flash? Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of him who is perfect in knowledge?
Psalms 104:25, 27. Animals, both small and great.. they all wait for thee to give them their food in due season.
Matt 6:26. Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns and yet your heavenly father feeds them. And are you not worth much more than they?
